Fortune Teller

After months of collaging and painting portraits I thought it would be time to go to the next step. I want to start creating scenes with lots of detail and characters. This sketch only has one person but ones to come will have a few. Hopefully I will find time to collage this. Also if you noticed and wondered the tarot cards here are blank. For the finished I might make separate little paintings for the cards and add them in digitally.

SCWBI Bulletin

So I'm a member of SCWBI and they email me when every bulletin/monthly magazine is available to read online or get in the mail. Being who I am I scanned the email and deleted it not knowing it could have said they used my art work in it or anything like that. Thanks to my friend Melanie I'm not sure if I would have ever noticed.

Cultivate

A quick little illustration for illustration Friday. It was a great relief taking a break from my sketch book. So the word was cultivate and immediately I thought of gardening and the things I liked and hated about it. My favorite part of gardening is watching my plants grow!

Chocolate love

So here's an old valentines illustration that was very fun and time consuming to paint. This was also my first attempt at using powdered watercolor to get a more metallic/gold look.

Landscape Practice #3

So here's a few more cave's for the very picky client...I got so bored of drawing rocks I started drawing some ruins just for fun. I also started drawing some wildflowers just to get me in the mood to practice some trees.

Snickerdoodles

So about a month ago I decided to make something very special for my cousin's baby shower. I wanted to make a personal childrens book with her son's name in it making their favorite cookies.(Or so I think). It was more rushed then I would like due to being sick during most of it but I'm very happy she liked it and that I can finally post it on my blog!

It was my first time using lulu.com  and unfortunately the front cover title got cropped. I really thought my template was the right size but I guess it happens. Next time I'll try another publishing site just to keep my options open.

Here's the cover with the back. I ended up putting the recipe on the back.

Here's a preview of some pieces I liked from the inside.

Landscape Practice #2

For my next drawing session I though it would be easier to work on caves after practicing rocks all week. My last drawing is a little rough do to wrist pain but hopefully I can get more up later today.
