New Book, New style

Last week the word for Illustration Friday was savor. I thought a girl drinking hot chocolate in the cold would sum the word up pretty well. I didn't finish this illustration in time to submit it but I really like the results. The style used is almost me. I'm starting to get a good balance between painting and collage. (Practice, practice, practice :O) So this little picture has inspired another book idea!

I'll have more information/illustrations soon. I want to get a few spreads drawn out to make sure my story idea will work out as much as I would like it to.

  3. Wonderful illustration--and fabulous style! It's funny how you actually have to make lots of pieces before things start to come together.

This picture seems to me to be the essence of winter.

  5. Isn’t it cool when your style becomes YOU. It’s a terrific feeling. Although my style is still slightly evolving, I remember when I finally said...”That’s it! “ Wonderful illustration Heather! I can see this in a book for sure!
